Michelle credits Yoga, Mindfulness, Therapy and other forms of Wellness for her ongoing recovery from depression and anxiety.

She is a yoga teacher and  lead trainer at the Internationally Accredited: Om Shanti Belize School of Yoga and Wellness, which she founded and has collaborated with Yoga Schools worldwide.  She is trained in Traditional Hatha, Ashtanga, Trauma Informed, Children’s and Restorative Yoga as well as Yoga Nidra. She is a Vedic Thai Yoga Therapist, an Usui Reiki Master and a Meditation Shiromani.

Michelle is also the founder of:

  • Om Shanti Belize YOGA, SPA & WELLNESS CENTER and MARTHA’s VEGAN/ VEGETARIAN CAFE,

    “The Power of Yoga”, a documentary highlighting some of ROC’s programs and produced by Great Belize Production, recently garnered special mention in the BEST documentary category at The Caribbean Broadcast Union Awards:

    Through ROC, she works closely with domestic violence and human trafficking victims as well as children affected by gang violence, neglect, abandonment, sexual abuse and other traumas. She offers workshops designed to help caregivers working with trauma victims understand vicarious trauma and develop tools for their own self-care

Michelle’s work has been featured  internationally in  publications such as  The Shift Network/Uplift Connect and in The Elephant Journal. Locally, The Ministry of Education has featured pics from her work with children in the Belize Mindfulness School Brochure.

She is a contributing author on Wellness for the 20th Anniversary edition of Destination Belize Magazine; Belize’s signature publication – widely distributed around the world since 1995

Michelle was also appointed the COUNTRY COORDINATOR for The International Day of Yoga in Belize by The Indian High Commission to Belize in 2015.
